The Streetsboro City School District Board of Education will hold the Scheduled Fiscal Year-end Financial Meeting on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at 1888 State Route 303, Streetsboro, Ohio 44241. (The Tech House) The purpose of the meeting is to consider the approval of the Year-end financial information, hiring of personnel and personnel matters.

SCS | OHSAA Mandatory Meeting for Parents and Student-Athletes

The OHSAA mandatory Meeting for Parents and Student-Athletes will be held on Thursday, August 15th  from 6:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. in the high school auditorium. This meeting is for all high school and middle school parents and student-athletes.  Attendance is required and parents must sign-in as proof of attendance.

SCS | 2019 Summer Food Program for Children

The Community Action Council of Portage County, Inc. is sponsoring the Summer Food Program for Children at sites around Portage County. Any child age 1 to 18 can receive a FREE, nutritious lunch and breakfast (at most sites) at one of the agency’s 10 open sites located throughout Portage County. NO PAPERWORK IS REQUIRED. SCS | School Bus Transportation for Non-Public Students

Streetsboro City Schools currently provides conveyance by school bus to the following non-public schools: VCA (Aurora), St. Patrick’s (Kent), and Seton Catholic (Hudson), and BIO MED Middle School. If you would like your child to ride to these schools, please let us know below (in Step 2). If you would like your child to be transported to another non-public school that is not listed, please let us know below as well. Some area non-public schools are outside of the 30-minute mark (see below) or do not have enough ridership to warrant service. (more…)

SCS | Summer Transportation Schedules for VCA, BIOMED, and Maplewood

For the summer 2019 transportation of students that do not attend Streetsboro City Schools, the following schedule will be in effect starting Monday June 3, 2019. See changes depending on locations.

LEAP & St. Pat’s – Transportation like normal on 5/31 (last day).

VCA – transportation from 5/31 – 6/5, 2019 with AM busing from group stop on Frost/43 to VCA at 7:25 AM, and PM busing from VCA to home (like all year).

Maplewood – from 6/3 – 6/4, 2019 with AM busing from SMS parking lot to Maplewood at 7:15 AM, and PM busing from Maplewood to SMS parking lot, arriving around 3 PM.

BIOMED – transportation from 6/3 – 6/14, 2019, with AM busing from SMS parking lot at 7:15 AM to BIOMED Middle School, and PM busing from BIOMED to SMS parking lot, arriving at SMS around 3 PM.

On 6/5/2019 the schedule changes, BIOMED transportation will commence from SMS to BIOMED at 7:30 AM from the main parking lot, with return around 3 PM to same location.

SCS | New All-Call System Implemented This Week

Dear Streetsboro Families,

Tomorrow Streetsboro voters will be asked to make a decision regarding Issue 6 and whether or not to approve a 9 mill, five year, limited operating levy that will generate $4.4 million dollars a year. This is perhaps one of the most pivotal decisions to be made in the recent history of our school district. This decision will either enable us to continue to provide outstanding opportunities for our students or send us down a path that will be very difficult to recover from. (more…)

SCS | Financial Facts to Support a Need for Additional Operating Dollars

Streetsboro City Schools, in order to continue operating, proposes a 9 mill levy that will generate $4,419,998.00 per year over the next 5 year term in order to fund increasing operational costs. This will be voted on by the general public on May 7th, 2019.
