Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention to the present. This state encompasses observing one’s thoughts and feelings without judging them as good or bad. To live mindfully is to live in the moment and reawaken oneself to the present, rather than dwelling on the past or anticipating the future. SCS | Investigation of E. coli O157:H7 Outbreak Linked to Romaine

FDA, CDC, and state health authorities are investigating an outbreak of illnesses caused by E. coli O157:H7 in the United States. Epidemiologic, laboratory, and traceback evidence indicates that romaine lettuce from the Salinas, California growing region is a likely source of this outbreak. This notice is active 11/26/2019. As a precaution, our Food Services Department, we served no salad of any kind this week in our cafeterias. (more…)

From time to time, your child may not feel their best. Sometimes, it’s hard to determine when they should stay home from school, or when it’s ok to go. Here’s some guidance from our district nursing team from Akron Children’s Hospital. When in doubt, check with your own local pediatrician for any medical emergency or concern. These same guidelines are true when riding the bus – please do not send your child to school when they’re actively sick. (more…)
