SCS | Transportation Update #3

August 19, 2019By Streetsboro City Schools0 ALERT, 1 District News, 1 High School News, 2 Middle School News, 3 Henry Defer Intermediate School News, 4 Elementary School News, 6 Transportation, 7 Technology News

We know you’re anxious to join us on Wednesday morning, and we are too! Our transportation team have been working non-stop to make sure students are routed, bus stops have been assigned, and everything looks good. There’s still a little work to be done, and we’re on it.

Route changes and tweaks are still being completed as we speak, and we ask for your patience with this project. Keep checking online using the Versatrans E-Link portal for your student’s bus stop information.

Our drivers were assigned their routes today, and we asked them to take a critical look at what we could improve, and where opportunities for efficiency could be found. We expect to tweak each route as we go into the fall months.

However, we don’t expect to make any major changes to the routes in the first few weeks. We have already heard from a number of parents wishing their route could be shorter, or include a specific street, and we’ll do our best to accommodate those requests in time. Likewise with requests for a closer bus stop, etc.

In the meantime, you are encouraged to check your morning pickup time in our online system, available on the transportation website. Please keep in mind that we reserve the right to make changes to this information as we continue to adapt to the changing needs of the student population.

Your login information is your student ID for both username and password, and you are free to set another password after you login the first time. If you don’t know your student ID, please contact the school building directly, not the transportation office. You can also check your Final Forms account for the student ID.

If you don’t see a stop location with pickup time for your student, let us know in writing. Send an email to launch@scsrockets.org with your name, student ID, the correct pickup location, and we’ll do our best to get it routed in time for school.

Have a great rest of your Monday, and we’ll see you soon. Remember, be at the bus stop about 10-15 minutes early, especially in the first few days while we get the routes settled.

See you Wednesday morning!

This week celebrates the 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 manned spaceflight to the moon. Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins travelled to the moon in a Saturn V rocket, safely landed (Armstrong and Aldrin) on the moon, and returned to earth. At Streetsboro City Schools, we honor spaceflight and the entire space program by naming our conference rooms and other meeting spaces after astronauts, space missions, and rockets. (more…)
