Streetsboro City Schools, in order to continue operating, proposes a 9 mill levy that will generate $4,419,998.00 per year over the next 5 year term in order to fund increasing operational costs. This will be voted on by the general public on May 7th, 2019.

SCS | 13 Cars Pass School Buses Illegally In One Day!

Streetsboro City School District was asked by the Transportation Office of the Ohio School Boards Association to participate in a one-day survey of how many cars or other motorists passed a school bus in the process of picking up or dropping of our students. In total, 13 cars passed our busses illegally during AM and PM runs on Wednesday, March 20, 2019! (more…)

SCS | Transportation Team Engaged in Fire Extinguisher Training

Streetsboro City Schools worked together with Streetsboro Fire Department to provide fire extinguisher training to all bus drivers and aides in the early hours of March 13, 2019. Transportation Interim Director Andreas Johansson had arranged for the training as part of a series aimed at better preparing the drive team for emergencies while in and around the school bus. Join Streetsboro City Schools for a Coffee Talk on Monday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m.  The theme will be “Academic Success & the State Report Card,” with Assistant Superintendent/Curriculum Director Aireane Curtis.   There will be a brief presentation prior to taking questions from the community.  The Coffee Talk will take place in the staff lounge at Streetsboro High School, 8585 State Route 14.

SCS | CDC Recommends Taking 3 Actions to Fight the Flu

Flu is a serious contagious disease that can lead to hospitalization and even death. CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) urges you to take the following actions to protect yourself and others from influenza (the flu).

Parents – just as a reminder if your son or daughter has a fever over 100.0 they must be fever free without the aid of any medication, for example ibuprofen or acetaminophen, for 24 hours before returning to school. Please be aware that some sinus/cold medications may also contain a form of ibuprofen/acetaminophen that can mask a fever as well.
