Rocket Updates 10/20/2023

Dear Rocket Families,

I hope this message finds you well and filled with the same excitement and energy I have as we head into the weekend. It’s hard to believe that fall is already upon us, and I couldn’t be prouder of everything we’ve accomplished as a school district during these past few months.

As we prepare to unwind and enjoy a well-deserved break, let’s take a moment to reflect on the remarkable achievements and milestones we’ve reached together. From our exceptional educators’ dedication to our students’ resilience, the fall season has been a testament to the unwavering spirit of our Streetsboro community.

The district published several videos this week with insights from each building about the previously released report cards from the State of Ohio, and what they mean for Streetsboro City Schools. Catch up on the latest, and learn more here:

Residents of the area around Streetsboro Middle School will see numerous safety vehicles and personnel at the school starting at 7 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, for participation in an active threat exercise that will not involve students. Learn more here:

Be sure to keep your information updated in Final Forms, and communicate any changes, especially if your child rides the bus. Review information in Traversa’s RIDE 360 app, available to all riders for the latest information about ride schedules. The app also helps track your child’s bus using GPS.

Do you want a sneak peek at our schools and what see happens each day here on the Streetsboro Schools Campus? See the latest snippets from the ever-expanding series “On the Streets of the BORO…” here:

If you have previously applied for free or reduced meal prices for school breakfast and lunch, it’s time to re-apply this fall. Applications are due by November 1, 2023, and you can find all the materials online, here:

Your free or reduced status will expire automatically if you don’t reapply.

Our 3rd Grade Ohio State Tests (OST) took place earlier this week, marking a significant milestone in our academic calendar. I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt pride in the outstanding efforts displayed by our dedicated teachers and incredible students.

Our teachers have worked tirelessly, preparing our 3rd graders for these assessments, ensuring they had the knowledge and skills necessary to excel. Their commitment to providing a nurturing and challenging learning environment is truly commendable. They have gone above and beyond to inspire a love for learning in our young scholars and have set them on a path toward success.

Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to our students’ success. I can’t wait to see what more we can achieve together as we continue onward!

Wishing you a fantastic weekend filled with relaxation and rejuvenation.
