Good afternoon Rocket Families and Staff,
Happy Friday to all and I hope everyone had a great week and are looking forward to a beautiful weekend with your family and friends.
There are many activities and sporting events going on right now so please allow me to update you below.
Also, please be sure to check our district calendar for many exciting sport matchups with our middle and high school athletes in football, soccer, volleyball and cheerleading over the coming days and weeks.
Friday Night LightsĀ – Please plan to attend and watch our Streetsboro Rockets take on the Ravenna Ravens at Quinn field at our high school. It looks to be a beautiful night for football and both our cheerleaders and band members have great performances planned for you.
Just a reminder that NO STUDENTS middle school aged and down should be dropped off at the game without a parent present. Additionally, we ask that all spectators sit in the stands to cheer on our Rockets to victory.
If you cannot make the game, tune in to Rockets Radio Cybercasts for a live broadcast at wp.rock889.com/rocketradio.
Stay Healthy/Stay SafeĀ – Flu vaccinations will be available for students through Akron Childrenās Hospital staff on 10/20. Principals will be sharing information in their building newsletters. Parents who are interested will need to watch for this information and sign their student up for a vaccine.
Bus Evacuation DrillsĀ – This week, and next, Streetsboro City Schools will perform mandatory school bus evacuation drills for all school buses. All drills will be supervised by additional school staff ā members of the Operations Department, building administrators, and teachers, along with the school bus driver.
Most of the drills will take place on school grounds, typically in a school bus loading zone next to a building, or where we normally drop off and pick up students.
Please talk with your bus rider this week to prepare them ā this is nothing unusual, and we practice bus evacuations just like we hold fire drills in our buildings. A trained school bus rider is a safer rider!

Band ShowĀ – I would like to invite everyone to the very first Boro Band Bash band show being held at Streetsboro High School Stadium this Saturday, September 17th, at 7:00 pm. The āBoro Band Bash will include performances from five Northeast Ohio schools and, of course, your Streetsboro Marching Rockets.
Tickets will be $15 at the door and parking is free. There will be delicious concessions available, a 50/50 Raffle, and the chance to purchase a āShout Outā over the sound system. Itās going to be an amazing event. So please join us for an evening of music, marching, and spectacle on September 17th at 7:00 pm for the 1st Annual Boro Band Bash!
Board of EducationĀ – Last week the Board of Education approved the latest version of the Streetsboro City Schools Organizational Chart, including the named department or team leads at its September meeting.

I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing weekend. Enjoy the weather, recharge your batteries, and GO ROCKETS!
Sincerely,
R. Michael Daulbaugh
