🚀 Rocket Updates – 17 MAR 2023

Good afternoon and welcome to our Spring Recess!

I personally cannot believe we are already three fourths completed with the school year! From my standpoint, as I have visited the buildings, I see many fatigued students and staff who are ready for a week off of school. Spring Recess could not have come at a better time.

I would like to remind families the break will begin on March 20th and last through March 27th. Remember Monday March 27th is a Staff Collaboration Day and there is no school for students. Students are welcomed back to classes on Tuesday, March 28th.

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, it is fitting that we celebrate the female leaders right here in our school district. Our female dominated leadership team here in the district had the opportunity to attend the Women in Leadership Conference last week in Columbus.

They joined other female leaders from around the state for a two day conference focusing on women in leadership positions. Streetsboro’s team included the following administrators:

Cynthia Deevers – Assistant Superintendent
Dr. Deb Grant – Student Services Coordinator
Gwen Abraham – SES Principal
Jen Wolf – SES Assistant Principal
Michelle Kravetz – Defer Intermediate Principal
Julie Taylor – SMS Principal
Lindsay Zenker – SHS Assistant Principal
Amanda Hall – Transportation Supervisor

Karen Benci, our HR and Payroll supervisor was unable to attend be she is also an important part of the administrative team here in the district. If you have a moment, please let all the female leaders in our district know they are appreciated!

Finally, parents should be receiving report cards for the third quarter of school year. It is CRITICAL that you carefully analyze your child’s progress. If you have any concerns at all, I highly encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher or teaching team and make an appointment to talk.

With only one quarter remaining in the school year, you are almost out of time to make changes that will positively impact your child’s grades. We have all become very efficient with the use of technology so getting a conference is much easier.

It is my hope that everyone has a safe and relaxing Spring Recess. Spend some quality time with your family, recharge your batteries, and come back to school ready to finish the school year strong!

Sincerely,

R. Michael Daulbaugh
Superintendent
