🚀 Rocket Updates – 2 DEC 2022

Good afternoon and happy Friday! Does anyone else feel like our first five day week in awhile felt like two weeks in one? I know as I have talked to staff near the end of this week, the consensus is that student and staff are ready for the weekend!

As we track towards the winter recess and upcoming holidays, many great things are happening throughout the district. From the full kick-off of winter sports to holiday concerts and gatherings at every building.

It would be impossible to mention them all hear, but please make sure you check the updates from your child’s building(s) to make sure you are up to date on everything happening over the next few weeks.

I would like to remind everyone of two awesome, family oriented events occurring this weekend. First, I would like to invite everyone to the 10th annual, PTA Holiday Connection to be held at Streetsboro Middle School tomorrow, Dec 3, 2022 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

This family friendly event will give kids a chance to shop with elves for their family Christmas, decorate cookies, and complete crafts. There will also be a bake sale with lots of good food and pictures with the Grinch. Please don’t miss this wonderful event sponsored by our very own Streetsboro Community PTA.

Also tomorrow, Saturday December 3, 2022, at the Streetsboro High School Auditorium at 8:00 pm, our amazing Thrive will be hosting a family friendly performance entitled Holiday Spectacular. Come watch over 24 talented students, staff, alumni and community members take the stage to celebrate Christmas in Streetsboro.

The show will contain a heartwarming script with classic characters like Santa, Mrs. Claus, Scrooge and many more. Tickets can be purchased online at or at the door. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity for your family and friends.

Finally, on a more somber note, I would like to ask everyone to send positive thoughts and prayers to the family of James Woods who will be laid to rest this weekend. James’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Woods, have courageously told the story behind his passing and I would encourage you to share this story with EVERYONE in your family and beyond your household. James’ family would like everyone to know there is never any problem or situation a family cannot tackle together.

We MUST get this message out to our families and friends. Together, let’s help to prevent a tragedy such as this from ever happening again. Thank you in advance for your kind thoughts and prayers of strength for his family and friends.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend and has a chance to catch some of the many events happening across the district. Take care, be safe and GO ROCKETS!
