⭐ Rocket Updates 9/16/2023

Good afternoon, Rocket Families, and welcome to the weekend!

This week was a very busy week for our students and staff. Many activities were taking place, and the school year is officially in high gear. As I reported in Thursday’s Board Meeting, the State of Ohio released our district and building report cards a day early.

I am happy to report the Streetsboro City School District achieved 4 out of 5 Stars on the district report card ⭐⭐⭐⭐!

This is an amazing achievement, and I would like to congratulate all of our students, staff, administrators, Board of Education, and parents for their outstanding efforts. We had to work together to receive such an excellent report! While we are very proud of this achievement, we still feel we have a lot of work to do. I have included the details for the district and each building below.

The following day, September 30, will be the Homecoming Dance at 7 p.m. in the SHS Gym. Information on purchasing tickets will be sent out to parents and students beginning on Monday.

I was informed that the Streetsboro Lady Rockets golfers finished a close second today at the MAC postseason golf tournament. The ladies were placed by All-League First team (and overall tournament medalist) Cortney Evert’s 94 and League Player of the Year Samantha Clark’s 97, within 13 strokes of a first-place finish.

Also contributing to the team score was second-team All-MAC winner Sarah Czirok, who carded a 108, and freshman Arianna Jacobs, who set a personal best round of 118. The ladies finished second place in the league.

Congratulations to all of our Lady Rocket Golfers, and a special shout out to Tim Foster, named MAC Coach of the Year, today following the tournament. I look forward to receiving updates regarding our other fall athletic teams soon.

I want to close by thanking everyone for such a positive start to the school year. Every year seems to get better, and I see every day that we still have the best students here in Streetsboro. Have a super weekend, enjoy the beautiful weather with your family, and Go Rockets!
