Although this was only a four day week, our students and staff were very busy with learning activities and events. From now until winter break, there will continue to be a lot going on in the schools. Be sure to read the newsletters from the building principals so you don’t miss anything that is happening.
The district is hosting a job fair on October 22nd from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Annex. If you are interested, or know someone who might want to work in our school district, please plan to attend. You can find more information about the job fair here: https://www.scsrockets.org/job-fair/
We are hoping that the job fair is a success as we are short in several key service areas for the district. As mentioned in my letter last week, please plan ahead in case a bus route or grade level needs to close for the day.
We are proactively working to prevent a cancellation, but may be forced to do so on short notice.
Should this be necessary, any cancellations will be communicated out to affected families as early as possible.
Students will be able to access their Google Classroom, or other assignments on these days. In the case of a bus cancellation, student absences would be excused if they are unable to get a ride to school on that day.
Earlier this week the Middle School and Streetsboro Elementary School participated in the World Food Run activities.
A huge thank you to our cafeteria staff, Heath Urbaniak, Food Service Director, all of our building principals, and the Operations team for helping to coordinate the event. Many thanks go out to all of you for your participation.
The food collection was successful and helped us stock a pantry for our students and their families that may need a little extra help.
Not only did the kids have a great time and a delicious lunch, they were able to connect as a school community to help others.
Our Rocket athletes are busier than ever, with many teams finishing up their season or entering into playoffs. Tonight our football team takes on Field in the Homecoming game. Kickoff is at 7 PM.
Come out to support the players and enjoy the band at halftime.
Tomorrow our cross country teams will be competing in the Legends competition, and next week our boys and girls soccer teams and the volleyball team have a full schedule. Plan to attend and cheer on our athletes!
Finally, don’t forget to mark your calendars for next Friday when our Choir students in grades 6-12 will be performing. Look for additional details from the building principals.
If you are looking for information about the upcoming renewal levy you can find that here: https://www.scsrockets.org/2021levyfaq/
Don’t forget that Monday, October 11th, is a professional development day for staff and there will be no school for students.
Have a wonderful weekend, and Go Rockets!
