We would like to inform you that on October 27th, Streetsboro City Schools, in collaboration with Portage County EMA, Streetsboro Police and Fire Departments, as well as various other local first responders, will be conducting an active shooter drill at Streetsboro Middle School.
Key Information:
Date & Time: Friday, October 27th, from 7 AM to 4 PM
Location: Streetsboro Middle School
Please Note:
- A select group of our school staff members have volunteered and will participate in the drill. However, the majority of participants will be units from the police and fire departments.
- We wish to clarify that no one will play the role of a victim during this exercise.
- No students will be involved or participate in this drill.
- We kindly request that parents and community members avoid the area of Streetsboro Middle School during the drill’s timeframe.
- For the day, the school district will be closed due to professional development activities. No students will be in attendance anywhere on campus.
- Our staff members not participating in the drill will be engaged in other training sessions at the high school.
- The drill is not open to outside spectators unless previously arranged and authorized by Portage County EMA.
The safety and security of our students, staff, and community is our utmost priority. Drills such as this, done in coordination with our local first responders, help to ensure that we are best prepared to respond in case of emergencies.
