Effective Friday, February 25, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will no longer require that masks be worn on buses or vans operated by public or private schools.

This change is intended to align with the CDC’s updated guidance, which no longer recommends universal masking in K-12 settings in areas with low or medium COVID-19 community levels.

The CDC is effecting this change through exercise of its enforcement discretion, so while the CDC transportation Mask Order remains in effect, its requirements will no longer be enforced with regard to schools.

Beginning on Monday, February 28th, wearing a mask on a Streetsboro School Bus will be optional for all passengers and drivers, aligning with the previous decision to make masks optional in and around our school buildings.

We support your choice to wear a mask or not, and 3-ply masks will still be available on the bus for those who choose to wear one.

Just ask, and your driver will supply you with a mask. The same is true at our front offices in each school building.

If you have any questions about riding a School Bus at Streetsboro Schools, send us an email at schoolbus@scsrockets.org, or learn more about our Transportation services, here: https://www.scsrockets.org/transportation/

Any previous guidance on mask wearing while riding a School Bus at Streetsboro City Schools is now obsolete.
