Dear Streetsboro Middle School Families and Friends,

Our first week of school went very smoothly! There were a few bugs and logistical issues that needed to be worked out in the new buildings, but the students adjusted very well. The students are finding their classes with ease and mastering their combination locks.

Please note that the office does not call students out of class to pick up items forgotten at home/dropped off for them. When these items are brought to school, they will be labeled with the child’s name and left on an assigned table in the office. Please remind your child to check the table between classes if they are expecting an item to be dropped off.

If your child is sick or may be late for any reason, please contact the office and make them aware so we can make the appropriate updates in our attendance system.

I hope that students came home and shared that they had a very positive experience during their first week at Streetsboro Middle School. As we work together to implement The BORO Way, we will continue to create fun and encouraging interventions to support students demonstrating positive behavior.

There is still time to complete the parent survey. Our teachers will use the survey to make learning better for our students. It can be found on the school webpage or through this link.

The HAC accounts will open Monday.

6th Grade Only – Any 6th grade student who is attending the Mohican field trip will bring home a packet of important information and forms on Tuesday 8/28. This information will include a reminder of your remaining balance, which is due 9/7. It will also include several forms that need to be completed by 9/14. Please contact Mrs. Kravetz at with any questions or concerns.

Please let us know if you have any questions as we get back into the school routine. Have a great week!

Mr. Suber

P.S. If there is a change to your email address, please be sure to update your information in the main office so that you continue to receive email updates. Also, follow us on Twitter @StreetsboroMS for updates and other important information throughout the school year.

Updates & Reminders

7th Grade Required Immunization Information

Just a reminder that students entering seventh grade will need to have one dose of meningococcal vaccine in addition to the current requirement of having one dose of the Tdap vaccine before the start of school. Some families have said that their appointment is after school the first day of school. The school needs to receive the copy of the immunization record in the clinic within the first 14 days of school. If you misplaced the letter that was sent home in the report cards in April, you can pick up another one in the main office.

Please remember that you will need a valid driver’s license in order to pick up a student or volunteer in the building. We have a new management system in place to help keep our students and staff safe.

Our PTA Needs You!: Your PTA is already at work planning all of this year’s activities, but we need your help! We are looking for a few people to join the PTA, including general membership and volunteer coordinators. You can sign up for the PTA on our school webpage.

Early Drop Off: If a student needs to arrive to school early, they may be dropped off at the main doors between 7:00 am and 7:15 am. They are to report directly to the cafeteria if they are eating breakfast or to the gym if they have already eaten.

Drop Off/Pick Up: Student drop off and pick up will take place in third row of the parking lot. When you are dropping off your child, please do so at the crosswalk. When picking up your child, please park in the third row and have your child use the crosswalk to meet you at your vehicle. The first two rows are reserved for bus pick up, bus drop off and teacher parking.

Bus Routes: Bus routes are no longer posted on school windows; now they are posted on the school website. You will need to use your student ID number as the username and password. Please log on and check your information for accuracy. If corrections need to be made, please contact the Transportation department. Student IDs can be found in Final Forms, or you can contact the office and they will help you.

Lunch: You are able to pay for your student’s lunch at If you are eligible for free and reduced lunch, please visit the school webpage and fill out the application. If you have questions, contact the food service department.
