The Streetsboro City School District Board of Education will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 7:30 a.m. at the District Tech Building (Stephenson House) located at 1888 State Route 303, Streetsboro, Ohio, 44241. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss, review and consider approval of the 5 year forecast.
Mrs. Gwen Collins and her fifth graders from Defer Intermediate School is spending the next few days at Kent State’s AT&T Classroom. The class will be exploring several digital tools to support their learning of math concepts related to decimals. Mrs. Collins designed a project-based learning unit (PBL) that will engage the students in using decimal operations to solve a “real-world” challenge.
Mrs. Aireane Curtis, Assistant Superintendent of Streetsboro City Schools updated the Board of Education (in response to last Board meeting’s report from Ohio Department of Education) on what the district continues to implement in order to improve student achievement for all.

The Streetsboro City School District Board of Education will hold the Regular Scheduled Meeting on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in the Discovery Room, 2nd Floor, at the Streetsboro Schools Annex Building, 1951 Annalane Drive, Streetsboro, Ohio 44241. (This is the Old Streetsboro Schools Middle School).

Streetsboro City Schools have implemented a visitor management system this school year in order to increase the safety and security for all students, staff, and visitors. We use a system from SchoolSafe ID that allows us to run an immediate national sexual offender check on all visitors using a visitor portal located in each building’s front office.
Report Cards are designed to give parents, communities, educators and policymakers information about the performance of districts and schools – to celebrate success and identify areas for improvement.

September is National Recovery Month. Sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Recovery Month is a time to increase awareness and understanding of mental health and substance use disorders and celebrate people living in recovery.
The Five Year Forecast is a tool used for district planning. The forecast reflects three years of historical data regarding revenue and expenditures, plus an additional five years of forecasted data. Assumptions based on TPP phase out assume that mandates do not change during the forecast period. This forecast is built on assumptions that can and will change over time.
