The State of Ohio is recognizing outstanding academic achievement across the state through the Ohio Guaranteed Admission (OGA) Program, which ensures guaranteed admission to Ohio’s public colleges and universities for students ranking in the top 10% of their graduating class.
Among those earning this distinction are several members of Streetsboro High School’s Class of 2026, whose years of hard work and academic excellence have placed them among the top-performing students in Ohio.
Students ranking in the top 10% of their class have earned this prestigious recognition, while those in the top 5% achieved an even higher distinction as Governor’s Merit Scholarship recipients. These students are guaranteed admission to the main campus of any Ohio public university as well as several participating private institutions.
“We couldn’t be prouder of these students—not just for their incredible academic success, but for the kindness, leadership, and positive energy they bring to our school every day,” said SHS Principal Patrick Griffis. “They’re truly exceptional—smart, humble, and driven—and they make Streetsboro High School a better place. The following students were recognized as Governor’s Merit Scholarship recipients: Addison Mrakovich, Alison Gigax, Avery Hunt, Ethan Laryea, Gurmehar Chima, Katie Robinson, Madison Campbell, Reina Ushiroda, and Zianni Houston.
The top 10% of the Class of 2026, who have also earned Ohio Guaranteed Admission recognition, include: Braden Hodge, Briana Hushion, Calli Hahn, Claire Campbell, Hazel Schoenherr, Jacob Cantelmo, Jameelah Oshodi, Olivia Jordan, and Evan Reger.
The Ohio Guaranteed Admission Program was launched to celebrate academic achievement and encourage Ohio’s top students to continue their education within the state. By guaranteeing admission to Ohio’s public universities, the program ensures that students who demonstrate consistent academic excellence have access to high-quality higher education opportunities close to home.
