SCS Value Added

Streetsboro City Schools students are showing remarkable academic improvement, with the district earning top rankings across multiple state performance measures over the past two years.

The district’s Performance Index score has shown the 10th best improvement in the entire state of Ohio over the past two years. Between 2022-23 and 2024-25 school years, Streetsboro eliminated an 8 percent proficiency gap in both English Language Arts and mathematics on Ohio State Tests.

The most significant achievement comes in the area of Value Added scores, which measure student academic growth compared to similar students statewide. Streetsboro’s Effect Size of .23 ranks second highest in Ohio, indicating substantial and meaningful student progress. The Effect Size measurement reflects both the number of students who showed improvement and the extent of that improvement.

Value Added measures are designed to show student progress over time rather than snapshot performance, providing insight into the educational impact schools have on individual student growth regardless of starting achievement levels.

"This data demonstrates the tremendous impact our educators are having on student learning," said Superintendent Cindy Deevers. "Our students are growing at rates that exceed state expectations."

For the first time in district history, every Streetsboro school building earned a five-star rating in Value Added. Streetsboro is one of only two districts in Ohio to have every eligible building receive five stars in Value Added, joining Orange City Schools in this achievement.

The strong academic performance data comes as the district continues conversations with the community following the recent levy result. The historic achievement of every building earning a five-star Value Added rating reflects dedication and effectiveness of Streetsboro educators.
