The Streetsboro City Schools Board of Education has approved placing a combined 5.1-mill renewal levy on the November 3, 2026, ballot. The measure combines the district's existing 3.6-mill General Fund levy and 1.5-mill Permanent Improvement levy, both originally approved by voters in 2007 and renewed twice since then.

Because the issue is a renewal, it will not generate any new revenue for the district or increase the current tax rate for property owners.

If approved by voters, the levy will continue providing approximately $2.55 million annually to support district operations and facility needs. Of that amount, about $1,798,235 will continue to be directed to the General Fund, while approximately $748,840 will be allocated to the Permanent Improvement Fund.

The General Fund portion of the levy helps pay for the district's day-to-day operating expenses, including educational programs, staffing, transportation, utilities and other essential services that support students each day.

The Permanent Improvement portion provides funding for long-term capital needs that cannot be paid from the General Fund. Those dollars are used to maintain and improve school buildings and grounds, replace and update vehicles, purchase equipment, and complete other facility and infrastructure projects that help keep schools safe, functional and efficient.

By combining the two existing renewal levies into a single ballot issue, the district is asking voters to continue the funding that has supported Streetsboro City Schools for nearly two decades without increasing taxes.
