Streetsboro High School students demonstrated outstanding academic achievement during the 2025-26 Advanced Placement (AP) testing cycle and results. This year, 151 students participated in AP coursework and testing, completing 245 AP exams across ten subject areas. SHS students earned an impressive average AP score of 3.38, well above the score needed to earn college credit at many colleges and universities.
Most notably, 80.8% of all AP exams earned a score of 3 or higher, demonstrating that Streetsboro students are not only enrolling in challenging classes but succeeding at a high level. Of the 245 exams administered, students earned 87 scores of 3, 78 scores of 4, and 33 scores of 5. Nearly half of all exams resulted in scores of 4 or 5, reflecting a high level of mastery of college-level content.
A score of 3 or higher on an AP Exam is recognized by the College Board as the benchmark for success, representing the score level that research has consistently found to be predictive of college success and college graduation. Studies have shown that students who earn AP scores of 3 or higher are significantly more likely to persist in college and ultimately earn a bachelor's degree. With more than four out of every five AP exams meeting or exceeding this benchmark, SHS students are demonstrating both academic achievement and college readiness.
Beyond the impressive results themselves, the 2025-26 data demonstrates continued growth in the Advanced Placement program. Compared to the previous school year, SHS students completed 20 more AP exams, representing nearly a 9% increase in participation, while also improving the percentage of exams earning college-credit qualifying scores. Maintaining an average score of 3.38 while expanding access and participation is a significant accomplishment and highlights the strength of both our students, teachers, and high school program.
The district's commitment to academic excellence was further recognized through the College Board's AP Scholar program. Sixty-nine SHS students earned AP Scholar recognition, including students recognized as AP Scholars, AP Scholars with Honor, and AP Scholars with Distinction for their exceptional performance across multiple AP exams. These honors recognize students who consistently demonstrate excellence across multiple rigorous courses and assessments.
Several AP courses achieved exceptional results during the 2025-26 school year:
AP Biology – 100% pass rate
AP English Literature and Composition – 100% pass rate
AP Precalculus – 100% pass rate
Additionally, students performed strongly across AP Statistics, AP U.S. Government and Politics, AP U.S. History, AP Psychology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, and AP Computer Science Principles, demonstrating the breadth of rigorous academic opportunities available at SHS.
Streetsboro High School students outperformed national AP averages in seven of the 10 AP courses offered during the 2025-26 school year. Students achieved perfect 100% pass rates in AP Biology, AP English Literature, and AP Precalculus. These classes exceeded national success rates by 29, 27, and 18 percentage points, respectively.
Streetsboro High School students also surpassed national performance levels in the following classes:
AP U.S. Government & Politics (89.7% vs. 76%)
AP Computer Science Principles (75% vs. 63%)
AP Statistics (70.2% vs. 62%)
AP U.S. History (81.0% vs. 74%).
