Streetsboro High School has made another significant jump in the U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings, climbing to No. 72 among high schools across Ohio in the latest rankings released this week.
The school also ranked No. 6 among high schools in the Greater Akron area and No. 1,992 nationally.
The latest results mark a steady rise for Streetsboro High School over the past several years. In 2023, the school ranked No. 201 in Ohio and No. 18 in the Greater Akron area. It moved to No. 167 statewide and No. 12 in the Akron area in 2024, followed by No. 149 and No. 9, respectively, in 2025.
This year, Streetsboro High School jumped 77 spots in the statewide rankings, moving from No. 149 to No. 72. Since 2023, the school has climbed 129 places in Ohio and moved from No. 18 to No. 6 in the Greater Akron area.
Streetsboro High School also remains No. 2 among high schools in Portage County, a position it has held since 2024.
“This recognition reflects the work taking place in our classrooms every day and the commitment of our students and staff,” Superintendent Cindy Deevers said. “We are proud to see Streetsboro High School moving up the rankings, but we are even more proud of what is behind those numbers. Our teachers are challenging students, our students are responding, and together they are building a strong academic culture at Streetsboro High School.”
U.S. News evaluates high schools using several measures, including college readiness, state assessment proficiency and performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates.
Director of Teaching and Learning Brett McCann credited the school’s progress to the work of staff members and students throughout the district. “The trajectory of Streetsboro High School in these rankings is exciting to see,” said McCann. “There is a tremendous amount of work behind that progress. Our staff members are creating opportunities for students, setting high expectations and helping them succeed. This is something our students, staff and community can be proud of.”
