Streetsboro City Schools and the district CARES team welcomed families to its fourth annual Wellness Fair on January 31 in the Streetsboro High School cafeteria

The free, family friendly event featured activities, giveaways and community partnerships designed to promote health and wellness throughout the district. The fair has become a popular tradition for connecting the community with valuable resources and information. The event brought together local organizations, school staff and Streetsboro families in a shared commitment to wellness and community engagement.

"The Wellness Fair brings families together with local organizations in a fun, welcoming space, showcasing the Streetsboro District CARES team’s commitment to supporting and strengthening our community, “said Superintendent Cindy Deevers.

One of the day’s highlights was the Touch a Truck event, presented by the Streetsboro Fire Department in the afternoon. Students and families had the opportunity to explore a fire truck up close and meet their local firefighters. The Streetsboro Police Department also joined the fair, giving children a chance to connect with and build positive relationships with the officers and first responders who serve their community.

Attendees enjoyed various activities including rock painting, creating vision boards, a selfie booths and information sessions on social media safety, internet safety and school organizations and clubs. The event also featured local wellness agencies providing resources and information to families. Rumi, SES therapy dog, was a favorite among visitors, greeting families and bringing smiles to those who stopped to visit.

The district extends special thanks to all sponsors and vendors who participated, including Coleman Health Services, Do It For James Foundation, Portage Mental Health and Recovery Board, Akron Children's, UH Portage, the Community Action Council, REACH Behavioral Health, PTA, Streetsboro Police and Fire departments, Streetsboro Parks and Recreation, Cub Scouts, Streetsboro's Pierce Library and the H.E.L.P. Additional prizes and giveaways were distributed throughout the afternoon.
