Streetsboro High School (SHS) is proud to recognize the outstanding leadership and service of 11th-grade students Olivia Willard and Jennaba Fall, who made a tremendous impact through their participation in the Student Visionaries of the Year campaign.
This year, ten exceptional SHS students proved that age is no barrier to making a world-class impact. Led by Olivia and Jennaba, their team, Fight Not Flight, took on the ambitious seven-week Blood Cancer United challenge and raised an incredible $35,000+ in support of blood cancer research, patient assistance, and advocacy.
Blood Cancer United is a powerful, student-led movement dedicated to funding research and providing support for children battling leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood-related cancers. By empowering the next generation of leaders, the organization transforms high school students into changemakers—turning school communities into hubs of philanthropy and hope.
What makes their accomplishment even more impressive is how Olivia and Jennaba recruited and inspired fellow SHS students to join Team Fight Not Flight, creating a unified and passionate group committed to making a difference. Their ability to lead, motivate, and organize others is a powerful example of student leadership at Streetsboro High School and reflects the heart of The Boro Way.
The Student Visionaries of the Year program is a philanthropic leadership development experience that challenges high school students to step into real-world roles as organizers, marketers, and community leaders. Over a seven-week campaign, students plan events, secure sponsorships, and rally community support while developing skills in entrepreneurship, communication, and project management.
Their team was part of a larger regional effort that included more than 700 students from 39 school districts, collectively raising over $1.9 million. These funds directly support groundbreaking research, patient education programs, and advocacy efforts aimed at improving treatments for blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma.
This work is often deeply personal, with many students participating in honor of individuals affected by cancer. Through this experience, students not only give back but also grow as leaders, gaining skills that will serve them well beyond high school.
The district is incredibly proud of Olivia, Jennaba, and the entire Fight Not Flight team for representing Streetsboro with passion, purpose, and heart. Go Rockets!
