Streetsboro City Schools has once again been recognized for its commitment to sound financial management and transparency, earning the Auditor of State Award with Distinction following its most recent financial audit.

The award, presented by the Ohio Auditor of State's Office, recognizes local governments and school districts that demonstrate excellence in financial reporting and accountability. The district's latest audit resulted in a clean report with no findings, reflecting the high standards maintained by the Treasurer's Office and district leadership.

This marks approximately the 13th consecutive year that Streetsboro City Schools has received the Auditor of State Award with Distinction, an achievement earned by only a small percentage of public entities across Ohio.

"Receiving this recognition year after year is a testament to the dedication, professionalism and attention to detail demonstrated by our Treasurer's Office," said Superintendent Cindy Deevers. "Their commitment to responsible financial stewardship helps ensure that taxpayer dollars are managed efficiently and transparently while supporting the educational needs of our students."

According to the Ohio Auditor of State's Office, the Auditor of State Award with Distinction is presented to entities that file timely financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and meet rigorous audit standards. To qualify, audits must be free of findings for recovery, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, questioned costs and management letter concerns related to financial practices or compliance.

"By keeping accurate financial records, governing bodies demonstrate their commitment to efficient, effective and transparent service," Auditor of State Keith Faber said in announcing the award. "This award honors public entities that have put in the hard work to keep their finances in order."

District officials said the continued recognition reflects Streetsboro City Schools' longstanding commitment to fiscal responsibility and accountability to taxpayers, even as the district navigates financial challenges and works to ensure long-term stability for students and the community.
